This week I am sharing the original part of chapter 1 from my Mills & Boon New Voices entry. For me the contest is over, but the story has just begun. I am reworking the beginning and moving on from there, so I figured I’d share the part that is hitting the editing room floor with you all.

This month I am including a scene from my WIP The Navy Lady. This is also being used in @briaquinlan’s First Line Contest So You Think You Can Write (#SYTYCW). In this scene, from the hero’s POV, Mac and Phoebe meet as she is escaping from her abductors. I am not sure this scene will ever be used, but here it is.

My excerpt this week is based on a writing challenge I was issued on the Romance Divas forum. The challenge:
Your characters are playing a game (what kind is up to you) and they really need to win.
The objects/words are: platypus, diamond, and a piece of music.
